Hi! Now I will tell you true story and this story is proof of that that life isn't always so good, and justice doesn't make the right choice, but what can we normal people do. We can sit home and hope that they believe us.
This story is about american girl, whose dad did not come home. This story is not mine but I have read it once and it was so sad that I wanted to much more of people to know this sad story. Maybe if enough of people would know this story it would affect other people too.
*It's been 3 years since I've last seen my dad. His hair has grown whiter. He seems frailer. But when he sees me, his smile could light up the sky. Today, Dad and I walked by the river. It was so hot that we were sweating within three minutes. We took a lot of pictures, then walked to the Starbucks near Kings. He ordered an ice coffee and a blueberry muffin, and said, "This is how I enjoy my life. This muffin makes me happy for a day. You make me happy for a year." Before long, our time together was over. I had to return to America while my dad remained in China. I want him to come home more than anything. He does too, so badly that it hurts him. However...
In the November 2008, my father was detained by the Tianjin Police. He was charged on obscure accusations for "infringing trade secret". His company was ransacked, our friends and allies threatened. He was thrown in a group cell for 17 months while no charges were filed because there was no proof to support
the accusations.
My father is an award-winning American scientist and inventor, internationally recognized for his work in developing car catalysts that reduced emission which helped the environment. He has done nothing wrong.
After my mother resorted to alerting the American media, my father was finally freed from jail. Immediately after, the Tianjin Police imposed a border control on him, and forbid him from leaving China even though he is an innocent American citizen. Even when he arrived at the airport with two US ambassadors by his side, he was still refused. It has been over 17 months and the Tianjin Police still refuse to lift the border control. Why?! The police have told us nothing.
I was 16 when my father was first detained. It's been a long 3 years watching my mother tire under the stress, and my younger brother grow up without a father. Now I am 19 and more determined to free my father at all costs. My name is Victoria Hu. I fight because I believe that justice will prevail, because this is the right thing to do. I fight because one day, my family will all sit down to eat dinner together again at last.*
I think is so wrong. I hope this father will some day get home and sit down and eat together with his family.
This is all. See ya.
